If you’ve never heard of Alexa.com, allow me to briefly explain: Alexa Internet, Inc. is a company based in California, United States. It was founded in 1996, and is a subordinate firm of the more famous Amazon.com. It provides web traffic data for blogs, as well as commercial websites.

How to Boost You Ranking
Some of the following may sound obvious. Nevertheless, some people still don’t know about Alexa.com, ergo I will include everything.

A Few Underground Extra Tips
As you understood from the above, you have a lot of work ahead in order to increase your Alexa.com Rank. However, there are some companies/websites that can do that for you on an automatic pilot. This is commonly known as traffic exchange, and may be sometimes a dangerous practice.
How does it work? Basically you open an account – usually free – and submit the URL of your site. The software will automatically visit hundreds of other websites in a single day. Since you have the Alexa.com toolbar installed on your browser, those websites will benefit from you visiting the site, because they have the toolbar installed too. This way their rank with Alexa.com will increase in a matter of weeks.
While doing the above, you earn points. The same process is applied to your website: since you have points, accumulated via your automatic browsing activity, other people will “visit” your site, always in the same automatic fashion, and you’ll increase your Alexa.com ranking too.
Why did I say it can be a dangerous practice? I’ll get this straight: if you have a website with, for instance, AdSense advertising/banners and you do traffic exchange – even though only to increase Alexa.com Rank – you’ll more than likely get banned, as Google doesn't endorse the practice.
